Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program that helps us overcome our hurts, hang-ups, and habits.  It is based on the actual words of Jesus rather than psychological theory.  20 years ago, Saddleback Church launched Celebrate Recovery with 43 people. It was designed as a program to help those struggling with hurts, habits and hang-ups by showing them the loving power of Jesus Christ through a recovery process. Celebrate Recovery has helped more than 17000 people at Saddleback, attracting over 70% of its members from outside the church. Eighty-five percent of the people who go through the program stay with the church and nearly half serve as church volunteers.

Celebrate Recovery is now in over 20,000 churches worldwide!

Body & Soul- Faithfully Fit

Renew: Physical, Mental, Emotional and Spiritual Health

Psalm 4:8 –I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.

Sleep is important in restoring the body’s processes.  Excessive hunger is the body’s response to a lack of sleep as the body cries for energy that is normally supplied by a good night’s sleep.

1 Corinthians 10:31-Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.

We can manage stress by proper fueling of the body through nutrition-healthy eating.  Learn what triggers stressful eating for you and plan to combat this by maintaining healthy choices.

1 Corinthians 9:27- But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection….

Physical activity helps burn excess chemicals in the body that lead to stress, strokes, heart disease, obesity, impaired memory and many other ills.  Therefore, for 2014 take the challenge to

  • Exercise: be specific about the goal, make a plan to walk, take simple steps like taking the stairs, parking the car and walking a little further to the store, stand and do stretches while watching your favorite soap opera,  game or reality show.

  • Eat better: Eat a little less by avoiding oversized portions.

Hebrews 12:2-Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross…and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God.

  • Me. Mine. My.  Being self-focused causes myopia. In order to limit discouragement and stress, we must move from thinking “it’s all about me” to realizing it’s “all about God”. (Paraphrased from Doug Fields- Home Word  ...Crosswalk)

  • When we think eternally, those things that discourage us seems so insignificant.

  • When our focus becomes eternal, discouragement can become the seedbed for a harvest of spiritual renewal-and the launch pad for a fresh start!!

  • MAY THE HOLY SPIRIT RENEW A RIGHT SPIRIT IN AND THROUGH ME IN 2014!
